2022

UX Researcher

I joined Techfleet DAO, an organization of likeminded designers and developers who grow their UX skills through pro-bono work for worthy causes. I worked to build a mentorship platform aimed at LGBTQ youth for Sean's Legacy. I performed exploratory and usability research and learned a lot along the way!

2021- Present

Nanny

Working as a nanny with three separate families has been very fun, and has allowed me to study UX/UI design at the same time. Vesta, one of my case studies, was actually informed and inspired by working closely with different types of families in their homes!

2020

Starbucks Barista

Being a barista was a crash course in collaboration and the importance of physical space design in making processes more efficient. Sometimes your coffee is a little slow because someone rearranged the espresso bar, and the syrups are in a very inconvenient position! I thought a lot about layout, and how important physical work flow is in making sure a team can work harmoniously together.

2016-2020

ESL Teacher in Seoul, South Korea

I moved to Korea right after college, and fell in love with teaching. Public speaking, tailoring my message different types of audiences, working with other teachers to put on events and festivals, and putting deliberate thought into designing my lessons, materials, and classroom to keep students interested and engaged with learning was a fantastically fun challenge.

2019

Community Theater Stage Manager in Seoul, South Korea

Another thing that kept me in Korea was the fantastic community I found myself a part of. I started as an Assistant Stage Manager, and worked my way up to being the Stage Manger for The Collective, a community theater group who's goal is to elevate the voices of people of color in Korea. Working with all kinds of people, creating and managing a huge schedule, designing scene transitions, and being the main point of communication for a large scale production was incredibly rewarding.

2021-2022

UT Austin UX/UI 6 Month Bootcamp

This bootcamp was an excellent introduction to UX/UI Design. I got to learn from a knowledgeable instructor, work with interesting people on group projects, and get up-to-date information about the current landscape and tools.

2012 - 2016

Austin College | Bachelor's Degree

I majored in Psychology and minored in Leadership at Austin College, a small liberal arts school in Texas. My education has been invaluable to my work as a designer, and I've leaned heavily on my knowledge of quantitative research to accomplish my user research. I also worked as an RA during my time there
